The beautiful Hand Dyed Merino Silk 4ply  is Knitting Squirrel’s exquisitely coloured semi solid and hand painted merino silk yarn.

These are gorgeous unique one-of-a-kind colourways.

Hand dyed Merino Silk 4ply gives excellent stitch definition. Perfect for knitting scarves, shawls, gloves and many other projects. Knitting Squirrel’s Hand Dyed Merino Silk is 75% superwash fine merino and 25% mulberry silk and it can be machine washed on a wool setting.

I use professional grade acid dye which has minimum impact on the environment.

Keep in mind, while I try to photograph the yarn true to colour, please remember that all monitors are different.

Care instructions:

Superwash wool and silk blend. This yarn is machine washable at 30 deg Celsius. Please wash with similar coloured items. Colours may run slightly for the first few washes.

Hand dyed colours last longer with hand washing. I hand wash with warm water and mild detergent. Dry flat. Hand washing will prolong the life of your finished garment.

But, the way in which you choose to wash your finished garment is dependent upon what the garment is. I tend to machine wash my hand knit socks as I wear them every day. On the other hand I hand wash and block my shawls, scarves and other accessories and garments when they need to be laundered.
