For 30 years, Opal has lived their passion for wool through their Opal brand. The beginnings? The first generation’s tinkering workshop and the second’s idea factory. Transformation, from white to colour, has always been at the heart of it all. Their printing partner makes this possible. After colour fixation, the Opal yarn takes a soothing steam bath, then 4250 meters, a vibrant, multicoloured kilogram, are transformed into a steam-refined wool cake, naturally low in calories. In the final step, the initially white yarn becomes a colourful, skeined wool love. For them, wool is art; Opal is their love for wool and handcrafts made real, a wool-based passion.

Characteristics:

• Fibre content: 75% wool, 25% polyamide
• Ball size: 100 grams
• Sock Yarn: 4 ply
• Approximate length: 425 metres
• Recommended needle size: 2-2.5mm
• Care: Machine washable, but it is always wise to follow the care instructions on the ball band.

Opal sweater and sock yarn 4ply is soft, absorbent, durable, non-felting, and shrink-resistant. Thanks to its superwash finish, it is machine washable at 40°C and suitable for knitting machines.
