Cora and her Wardrobe

29 June 2023 By Nicolette 1 Comment

Several years ago, my cousin adopted her daughter. My mum and I decided to send her daughter a present. We chose Cora. I created a collection of clothes for Cora and gave her a variety of outfits for different occasions.

Cora 3

The sweater is a pretty purple with two pink stripes. The socks match the sweater and look cute with the leather sandals. Her hat and trousers are a lovely pink silk tweedy check fabric. The monkey toy is adorable.

Cora 2 Sasha Doll

Cora is wearing her summer day swimming costume, shorts, and sunhat. This set also features a tote bag, a green fleece blanket and a cute cuddly mouse. I also made a cotton jacket for when she needs to cover up from the sunshine. I also included white sandals.

Cora 1 Sasha Doll

Broken striped sweater in denim blue tweedy yarn and sand/ivory/sky blue variegated sock yarn. I thought the sweater looked lovely with grey finewale corduroy trousers. The denim blue socks went nicely with the leather sandals.

Cora 5 Sasha Doll

This textural sweater is knit sideways in garter stitch stripes and Fairisle triangles. Teamed with lovely beige finewale corduroy trousers with pockets.

Cora 6 Sasha Doll

I love this pretty pale orange finewale corduroy duffle coat. It is teamed with a moss stitch scarf and mittens knit from 100% alpaca. She wears pale brown corduroy trousers with the russet sweater below.

Cora 9 Sasha Doll

It’s a pretty cotton yoke dress with a slip and pantalette. I always enjoyed choosing colours that contrast beautifully together for making these styles of dress outfits. Pale brown socks and brown leather-laced shoes look cute. I gave a cuddly horse with this outfit.

Cora 7 Sasha Doll

I love the russet/brown variegated sock yarn for knitting this crew neck sweater. I think it looks fantastic with the pantalette from the dress set above worn as modern-style long shorts with the socks crinkled around her ankles and her leather shoes. I also made a skirt in the same pale brown corduroy used for the trousers above.

Cora 8 Sasha Doll

The final outfit is a brown sweater with a turquoise striped yoke. I made trousers and a skirt using turquoise fine wale corduroy. I added cotton tights and ankle boots that I thought looked cute with the skirt.

Cora 10 Sasha Doll

I hope she has enjoyed playing with Cora over the last few years.

“it is pure potential. Every ball or skein of yarn holds something inside it, and the great mystery of what that might be can be almost spiritual”
